Nestled on the north slope of Wycliffe between Kimberley and Cranbrook, our family raises livestock and grows produce for our own needs. In 2018, we expanded our production to provide fruit, veggies, eggs, and poultry for the local community. A mountain lifestyle isn’t traditionally compatible with tomatoes, but with purpose, passion, and skill, we’ve been able to consistently provide our area with local luscious tomatoes, succulent berries, crunchy sweet greens, and plump poultry. The tomatoes and peppers thrive in our greenhouse, the raspberries and strawberries enjoy our rich soil and cool nights, and our free range chickens explore their pasture and nap under the shade of the trees. The girls help with the daily chores and are skilled in pruning and animal husbandry. Knowing your farmer is important; do come for a chat at the Kimberley or Cranbrook Farmer’s Market! In 2019, photographer Mark Locki made a documentary on local food which featured us in our early stages; you may see the short film here: New Roots.
